    Marine pollution is one of the leading problems that has to deal with marine life. One of the leading items that make up marine pollution, is plastic. "It is now believed that there are 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic debris in the ocean. Of that mass, 269,000 tons float on the surface, while some four billion plastic microfibers per square kilometer litter the deep sea". These numbers are constantly going to increase over the years if nothing is done about it, this is a big issue for animals and humans. Animals such as marine birds and fishes are dying due to entanglement or poisoning, which leads to contamination of the fish that we eat due to chemical contamination caused by our own pollution. Our own actions  is destroying many things within the ocean, such as coral reefs which separate land and sea which we tend to visit cause of its fascinating sites. Reasons why our coral reefs are being destroyed are pollution and sedimentation, then again this isn't just a little problem that requires a small solution, this is a world-wide problem. If we desire to keep any life or locations we need to reduce or stop marine pollution, there are many alternatives that cause reduce marine pollution. If marine pollution continues as a problem we are putting ourselves at risk, marine pollution causes oxygen depletion, higher acidity, algal blooms. Oxygen depletion is a big problem dealing with marine life, trash that stays on top of the surface of ocean blocks the ability of oxygen going to animals and it also blocks sunlight that animals and plants depend on. If marine pollution continues it will have a great affect on us, but people don't seem to see the issue or even care to help reduce or putting a stop to the pollution.

Pollution On Coral Reefs

Plastic bags are controversial to marine life due to human activity every year people are throwing plastic bags in oceans and ponds and they don't disappear.  Once, there in the water instead of people picking them up they leave it there in the water once plastic is just floating in the water is starts to break down to smaller pieces this is called micro plastics  it starts to give off a smell to any host in the water and thinks that its food once the host eats the tiny plastic it can cause a clog in the body and the host can die. Its important that us humans throw away our garbage like plastic away in a recycling bin so we can reuse it.But keep in mind that when a lot of plastic bags are in the water it can damage a lot of coral reef"s  and without coral reef"s there will be nothing to provide habitats for any marine life and they are the source of nitrogen and other essential nutrients for marine life. Its important we keep our water clean all the time about 80% of our water has pollution and we need water its everything to us without water we wont live and we wont have any marine life which without marine life we could not have oxygen because 70% of our oxygen is made of marine plants. even thought  our water is important we still have people who just don't  care  about water pollution at all i think we should make it a law that no garbage is to be thrown in the water it will give our water a chance not to have pollution.
