    Marine pollution is one of the leading problems that has to deal with marine life. One of the leading items that make up marine pollution, is plastic. "It is now believed that there are 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic debris in the ocean. Of that mass, 269,000 tons float on the surface, while some four billion plastic microfibers per square kilometer litter the deep sea". These numbers are constantly going to increase over the years if nothing is done about it, this is a big issue for animals and humans. Animals such as marine birds and fishes are dying due to entanglement or poisoning, which leads to contamination of the fish that we eat due to chemical contamination caused by our own pollution. Our own actions  is destroying many things within the ocean, such as coral reefs which separate land and sea which we tend to visit cause of its fascinating sites. Reasons why our coral reefs are being destroyed are pollution and sedimentation, then again this isn't just a little problem that requires a small solution, this is a world-wide problem. If we desire to keep any life or locations we need to reduce or stop marine pollution, there are many alternatives that cause reduce marine pollution. If marine pollution continues as a problem we are putting ourselves at risk, marine pollution causes oxygen depletion, higher acidity, algal blooms. Oxygen depletion is a big problem dealing with marine life, trash that stays on top of the surface of ocean blocks the ability of oxygen going to animals and it also blocks sunlight that animals and plants depend on. If marine pollution continues it will have a great affect on us, but people don't seem to see the issue or even care to help reduce or putting a stop to the pollution.
